Literally every argument I have seen for keeping this loophole is pro-corporate bullshit.

    1.  There is no evidence that restuarants suffered in the past when the amount deducted was split in half.

    2.  Most business meals are lunches.  Restaurants make most of their margin up at dinner as the overwhelming majority of Americans (the ones that don't get to deduct the ham sandwhich they bring in a paper sack) stay at work or don't even take a lunch.  This is why restaurants have such generous lunch specials.  There are also less desserts and less alchohol ordered (where restaurants make up most of their margin)

    3. If a company buys a superior product or is an excellent distributor a company will do business with them reagardless if they are entertained or not.  DO you seriously think someone who is looking to get their product manufactured, for instance, that finds a company to do said job for a great price and decent quality is going to walk because they weren't bought a steak?  Give me a fucking break.
