    That's a very strange interpretation.

Any college student who isn't covered by their parents' insurance will either be covered by the Medicaid expansion, or, if they do work full-time above minimum wage in addition to going to school, receive an extremely large subsidy such that they're still paying far less than the actuarial value of their plan. College students and other young adults who haven't yet established careers are a net expense - not income - under ACA, aside from those who are covered by their parents.

When people say 'the law relies on young people', they mean the law relies on professional late-20- and 30-somethings who actually make a livable income.

The problem with that isn't that people in that demographic aren't willing to sign up for health care (they're getting married, having kids, developing a few early health problems, etc) - it's that that demographic is rapidly shrinking because there aren't any jobs for us.

particular provision in ACA that mandates the kids can stay on the parents' plan until 26.

The "grass roots" efforts by kocj-backed groups and charter school folks, to sway young minds is frightening!

(It is grass roots not in its founding, but in its target audience).

Ayn sucks. Please know I am not rude. I cannot rec anything from this browser. When I rec or post diaries I am a guest at some exotic locale's computer.
