  •  Survived???????? (8+ / 0-)

You are in the tropics compared to me then. I wish mine would survive. The reason I don't have a hummerbird feeder is the Black and Blue is crack to them and the plants have waiting lines there are so many. I once was between two plants with the hummers all around me.

I will be sure to plant black and blue sage around the hummingbird feeder!!!  :D

Yes - I am in the zone where they can overwinter (if planted in the ground).  I was afraid they didn't survive at all last year and was bitching about it early on.  jayden said to be patient and that the roots were pretty hardy.  Sure enough, I finally saw them emerging (late) and they did bloom well.  :)

I had to tear mine out; it has just been too dry for them to do well in my crappy soil. I spent last week ripping out several other things and replacing them with plants that hopefully will do better in less-than-ideal conditions. One nice discovery has been white plumbago; it requires little maintenance and does surprisingly well in lousy dirt.
