    Really, flooding in most parts of HK rarely is unmanageable and it is actually some areas of New Territories like Fanling, rural Shatin or Yuenlong that get the worst of it since they are more flat.

    But typhoons are so regular in Southern China, even when really severe people pretty much deal with it, practice makes perfect.

    BTW, typhoons hitting Guangzhou are usually not so severe because it is far enough inland that the wind and rain are usually less severe than would be in Hong Kong or Macau.
