  •  Blaming Obama (4+ / 0-)

also led the party to defeat in 2010. Bashing the guy at the top kills voter enthusiasm for the party. And it will happen again in 2014 if we keep doing it. Whether or not the criticism is justified.

Congress is broken and Americans are broke.

    •  It's never a good time. (4+ / 0-)

There's always an election coming up.

Meanwhile, the core problem never gets addressed, and we find ourselves continuously wondering, "what happened?"

      •  Obama started triangulating before taking office (1+ / 0-)

it's easy to see now that was always the plan.

His intention was to ignore those of his campaign promises he had to in order to get Repub support for (x, or y, or z), and keep some promises as a tradeoff.

This was surely encouraged by each and every DC insider, but was a blatant rejection of those who voted for him.

I gave up on Obama in his first term........and I'm as hardcore a Dem as you can get. My daughter has given up on him as well, and she's exactly the type of person who Dems would have, and could have, had voting for them for the next 40 years. But, they f*d it up by trying to compromise with the craziest bunch of R's this nation has seen in 100+ years.

...through the heart of comments like yours, which amount to "clap louder or Tinkerbell will die." Or in this case, "You didn't clap loud enough, so Tinkerbell died."

Give it a fucking, fucking rest. You people have been making excuses for Obama's crappy leadership since day 1. No matter what the outcome, it's never his fault. He cannot fail, he can only be failed by people who have the temerity to criticize him.

      No. No. No. No. No.

Obama blaming "Congress" instead of Republicans is what costs democrats elections. Obama refusing to hold Republicans accountable is what costs Democrats elections. Obama selling out the middle class homeowners in favor of Wall Street and the banks is what costs Democrats elections.

Obama's shitty choices are what cost Democrats elections, not the people who point out that the emperor has no clothes.

Your claim that insufficient blind loyalty to Obama is what costs Democrats elections is absurd on its face and I, for one, am fucking fed up with hearing it from Obama supporters year after year.

If Obama doesn't want to lead the Democratic Party to victory, he should just declare himself an independent and let someone else lead the party.

Thanks to everyone, whether they agree with me or not, for making this such an outstanding community. I know we usually want to see the same things for the country even when we disagree over individual politicians.
