We don't need no stinkin' context! That cuts into profits! And it's hard! It's hard work! And Faux News might yell at us for being biased!

They are afraid of conservative backlash. Our modern media understands little about truth or courage or they're just much to concerned about profits to care.

Republican congressional members are afraid of being primaried from the right; Democrats are afraid of having to defend themselves against a tea party opponent.  Spinelessness seems to be a congenital defect all over the capital.

has been acting like it is terrified of the right, more often than not. Thus, not only is the MSM infested with corporate whores, but also moral cowards.

The "liberal media" meme didn't come from nowhere. It was carefully planted some 40 years ago to intimidate the media to swing to the right in order to avoid being attacking. Bu in order to seem like watchdogs, it had to attack SOMEONE so it usually attacked Democrats.

Bringing in outside "facts" like how many veterans would be cut off, or how many more children would be facing grim starvation, is just window dressing, extraneous folderol that gets in the way of the story the popular media are trying to tell.

The story is Republican steadfastness and resolve, and if you go cluttering up the narrative people will miss the Very Important Story because they're so focused on veterans eating out of Dumpsters and kids slowly starving to death. And that would put our millionaire reporter class right off their evening cocktails. Which means . . . You're the real heartless villains!
