    is that the sequester was only passed because both sides had skin in the game.  That was the entire point.  Republicans are effectively trying to get their skin out of the game and undo the parts of the sequester that they didn't want while leaving all the pain they inflicted for the sacrifices that Democrats made.  And they are trying to use cuts to Medicare and SS to pay for it!

    That's beyond offensive, but I can't say that I didn't completely expect it.

      But they didn't. Republicans would supposedly do anything to stop cuts to the military. Democrats would supposedly do anything to stop cuts for the poor. lol, really?

      Turns out, the Republicans will do anything to stop cuts to the military, and so will the Democrats. Cuts to the poor, not so much. Not only would the sequester happen, but the military spending would be spared.

      All of this was readily obvious from the beginnings of the sequester.

      Banking on the American people to be able to sort all this out and declare the adult in the room the winner is a very big bet. -Digby
