  •  Imagine you are a Tea Party supporting loon (1+ / 0-)
    Recommended by:

Who's been ranting and raving like a lunatic to anyone who will listen about the evil Obamacare death panels that are going to destroy America.

And you've put all your faith in Cruz and Rubio etc. who have told you how awful this law is and that they are going to stop it and protect you.

Now imagine all this energy, all this expectation all this anger they've built up in you. All the bottled up hate and fear of this law.

Then imagine you're disappointment when the law is not stopped.

    They've failed you.

Then imagine you're confusion, turned to rage, when your neighbors, who for years you've been ranting to about Obamacare, start getting health insurance for their family, and it's reasonable, and there are no death panels.  And they remember your rants, and they start laughing at you and mocking you behind your back (or so you imagine).

Imagine your embarrassment, you're shame.   The confusion and cognitive dissonance.

How will you feel? Who will you blame? Will you be motivated to vote?

And all this will be happening to the GOP's base going into '14.

Imagine the most profound idea ever conceptualized occupying this space. Now expect exactly the opposite. You'll never be disappointed.

    •  That scenario assumes that Tea Party folks deal (0+ / 0-)

      in reality.

They will still be up in arms about poor people getting health care that they don't "deserve".  They will still be up in arms about being "forced" to buy health insurance even when they are on Medicare and the ACA essentially does not impact them.  They will still be up in arms about "freedom" and "socialism" and all the vague scary words used to demonize anything about President Obama.
