    Money lost to NCLB and standardized testing won't begin to  solve our childhood poverty problems or restore the high ranking our schools enjoyed before Prop. 13.

    •  IMHO, California schools (0+ / 0-)

      are in many ways better than they have ever been. Or at least, in 2008, for K-12, were better than they had ever been.

      We expect far more of students today.

      The programs aren't broken, but in many cases the kids and the communities are broken. Schools in low poverty communities do great.

      Fry, don't be a hero! It's not covered by our health plan!
