  •  The daughters of those two have great prospects (9+ / 0-)

thanks to parents who were both in far more humble circumstances that age.

Fine example of damn good parents.

    •  What is it with Presidents having daughters? (3+ / 0-)

I was just going through the list in my head.

Obama has two daughters. Then there's GW Bush (two daughters). Clinton (one daughter) -- skip over GHW Bush and Reagan, who had sons -- Carter (one daughter). Ford had a son. Nixon (two daughters). LBJ (two daughters). Before that, families were much bigger because the birth control pill hadn't been invented yet.

Six of the nine most recent Presidents had either one or two daughters and no sons. I don't think there's any inner hidden secret meaning. It's just kind of interesting. Now that I think about it, most of the recent Presidents had very strong mothers.

Sorry, I'm just thinking out loud.

yeah, the Carters had 4, 3 boys & Amy was by far the youngest (20 years between oldest & Amy); and yes, the Fords also had 4, again, 3 boys & one girl.
