    when spending long days outdoors, is the ability to think rationally and to avoid panic. I'm no good at chess, but in the woods I am always thinking several moves ahead. And I constantly check for escape routes.

    Other foresters agree that one of the most harrowing situations is to find yourself in dense brush on steep ground, where a quick escape is impossible.

    I have enough pics and stories for several diaries, but they will likely have to wait until I return home. As you know from your own writing,  to prepare a diary and follow the comments takes many hours of time.
