i consider any statistics produced by communist dictatorships to be worthless. They lie for fun.

My stats come from the World Health Organization, so I think they are useful.

I agree that governments - not just communist dictatorships (isn't that an oxymoron, btw?) - are known for skewing statistics in their favor.

WHO get its Cuba stats from?

My guess is the government of Cuba.

We each have to satisfy ourselves about the accuracy of any statistics we encounter.

I accept the WHO data as reasonably accurate, and even if they are off by a bit - say 65 instead of 78 - my point about the lack of 'bang for the buck' of the USA spending 16 times as much on health care per capita remains.

And, of course, the larger point that Calgary Cruz incorrectly criticized Cuba's universal health care still stands - they get a whole lot out of their $478 per year per capita.

          Cheers.

the government of that paragon of democracy, capitalism and Teh Freedomz never, ever, ever lies. About anything. Ever. The United States only lies about unimportant things, like blatantly breaking the Constitution, propagandizing the country into launching wars and its involvement in undermining democratically elected governments around the world.
          So yeah, save the sanctimony.
