    Considering the law defines affordable at 9.5%, his family seems like a perfect case of one who should go shopping the exchange. And yes, I realize Florida isn't trying to make it easy. A quick look at the Kaiser calculator and making some assumptions, since I obviously don't know everything about your son. Without a zip code I used the national average instead. Assuming two adults over 21, both 30 and non-tobacco users, and two children under 20, his family's total premium could be something like $2,000 for a mid-level plan.

    Make sure he looks at the exchanges next week.
