    •  I'd rather have the stupidity; (3+ / 0-)

it increases the chances of honesty.

      •  Understood. The (perceived) reality still hurts (0+ / 0-)

'cause I'd rather it could be elsewise.

that when I say "she'd be more brains," I'm not setting the bar terribly high.

that you are more intelligent than Hillary Clinton? Seems like you do.

but let's just say I've never been impressed with her ethics.

her intelligence, which is really a stretch, really.

And, her ethics are pretty sound as regards women and children around the world.

I don't know exactly where she failed you, but she is highly ethical in many things that matter very much.

What I said was: To say she's more intelligent than John Kerry isn't setting the bar very high.  She can be brilliant; she can be dull -- either way she's smarter than John Kerry.

This was, in effect, a comment on John Kerry.  Sorry you missed it.

Now as for La Clinton's ethics are concerned, I'll take her pious noninterest in the Bahrainis, or her curious disavowal in 2008 of her own position on NAFTA during the last years of her husband's administration, as sufficient evidence supporting my judgment on her ethics.

I'm not saying he's a genius, and it wouldn't surprise me if HRC is smarter, but it appears to me that Kerry has at least above average intelligence.  There are a large number of absolutely stupid politicians, and Kerry is head and shoulders above all of them.

Now, in terms of their ideological beliefs or diplomatic goals, that is a separate issue.  Intelligence, at least as measured by, admittedly flawed, standard metrics doesn't appear to have a great bearing on political beliefs.  There are a lot of very "intelligent" people who are dead wrong politically.

                    •  I suggest looking at things Kerry has accomplished (0+ / 0-)

I think he is a brilliant man, who has been an exceptionally good diplomat.

I don't doubt that Clinton is very smart - she is. Also hard working and very organized.  I don't think she has Kerry's eloquence that he has showed since 1971 or his integrity.

any politican has failed him/her simply because they are in politics.

You're not going to get anywhere arguing that line with corvo

      •  Honesty? Getting Iran to admit the Holocaust (3+ / 0-)

occurred as like pulling teeth.  Interesting how you appear to take the position that the US will be dishonest and Iran honest in these negotiations, when Iran can't even bring itself to admit the Holocaust occurred without hedges and qualifications.
