but I wouldn't recommend the show to anyone who has a low threshold for violence. Imagine Macbeth stretched out over 62 hours with strikingly realistic special effects captured faithfully by an unflinching camera. It's...more than a little disturbing.

I actually have a relatively low tolerance for violence myself (can't watch horror movies or anything involving zombies, and a lot of action-sci-fi makes my stomach turn; my tastes usually run to the romantic comedies and character dramas). I was able to make an exception for BB, but a lot of episodes left me feeling rather ill.

For me, it was 100% absolutely worth it. Would do it all over again, all 62 hours of it. But knowing how it made me feel, I can't in good conscience recommend it to someone else with a low violence threshold. Not sure if that makes any sense.

I haven't been able to watch much of it at all.  I have a low tolerance for violence and for emotional trauma, and both of those seem to be central to the plotline.

None of the characters have been at all lovable while I was watching them, anyway.

My husband was hooked.  Most nights I watched as much as I could and then wandered off to play video games with the headphones on so I didn't have to listen.
