  •  The first panel is also what Jesus intended... (0+ / 0-)

as well as the Founding Fathers. After all Jesus is never mentioned in the Bible promoting health insurance for all. True, he personally healed the the sick, the blind, and the infirm, fed the poor, and raised some from the dead--but, but, but, that doesn't count! True, he also blessed the meek, the poor, the merciful, and the peacemakers--and he also said:

But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

    (Luke 6:24-26, KJV)

But facts like this don't count in the WWJD contingent of the right-wing Republican party. Jesus wept.

But if the cause be not good, the king himself hath a heavy reckoning to make, ... there are few die well that die in a battle; ... Now, if these men do not die well, it will be a black matter for the king that led them to it; — Shakespeare, ‘Henry V’
