Nod. The establishment will throw every dollar they have to make sure Christie pulls it off. But of cause I might be widly wrong, the craziness of the current GOP crop could well ensure they nominate a guy like Paul or Cruz who can't win a general election.

As much fun as the battle will be, in the end I can't imagine Cruz or Paul pulling out the nomination.

The best bet would be for them to run parallel up until a few weeks before Super Tuesday, then one of them to back out and support the other.

Cruz ( 20%) & Paul (17%) lead GOP primary voter preferences:

3rd place is Christie, with 14%.

If one of the two bowed out and threw their weight behind the other at the right time, the quick boost could garner enough primary votes to make it really difficult for the establishment to usurp the will of the crazies.

but it may not be Christie.  Scott Walker, Marco Rubio, and even Jeb Bush would probably be more acceptable to the rank-and-file Rs than Christie.

But Christie does have a decent chance of winning the nomination.
