  •  I wonder if Iranian media will deny even the (0+ / 0-)

Existence of these tweets?  Rachel did a segment yesterday on Iran's media.  For instance, they denied that Rouhani had made certain tweets and claimed he had no twitter account.  They photoshopped sleeves on Michelle Obama's sleeveless dress at a public function  (maybe the recent emmys?).  They inserted pro-Iranian nukes rhetoric into the acceptance speech of an Iranian filmmaker at the Oscars or Emmys.  Lol

I recall that during Iran's crackdown on the demonstrations that took place after their "election" in 2009 or 2010, Obama was giving an interview about various matters and on Iran he stayed careful so as not to make the US the issue, so the Iranian gov't couldn't use something he said to rally theublic against the great Satan.  Iranian mesa showed the interview, but with no sound accept for a voiceover interpreter that "interpreted" Obama's words into Farsi, putting all sorts of anti-Iran and anti-Persian into his mouth.  It didn't work as well as they'd hoped, since YouTube had Obama's actual words.  This was before Iran closed access to the internet.

but when you have modesty police running around...

The Iranian public is extremely foreward thinking when it comes to social media and finding it through alternative channels--the Green Revolution was a testament to that.  So while I'm sure you're right that the media will downplay or even deny the twitter accounts, much of the public will be talking about them.

I would at least expect the press to acknowledge the interaction--maybe not the twitter feed, though.
