  •  Recently I've spent a dozen years at the same (2+ / 0-)

wonderful part-time job I have at a local library, but up until then I had a resume that was passing two full pages because I'd stay a year and a bit and then go through a 'You can't fire me- I quit!' routine.
Hubby finally got upset one day and yelled at me "Maybe it's you! You have an 'ethical problem' with every single job you ever got!"
No, it turns out that it wasn't me, it was the stinkin', cheatin', lyin' creeps everywhere else.

The one that really opened my eyes though went like this:

The Boss took me out for a drink after work one day and used a phrase which I guess was common, although I had never heard it before. (picture it as a New Yorker cartoon)

Boss: "You know, in my business, there are two things- 'perception' and 'reality'-"
Me (interrupting): "Well, yes I know, Boss, but you know me. You know I'll always choose reality."
Boss: "Yes, I know. That's why you're fired."

Geez- I thought I had the right answer and never saw that one coming.

We are all pupils in the eyes of God.
