    1) Republicans are not going to destroy the ACA.  They've lost every step of the way from the initial passage of the law to the 2012 elections where they ran on repealing it and lost the vote

    2) There are several things within the ACA that move health insurance away from the private world towards single payer.  Don't forget the provision that requires private health insurers to spend 80% on healthcare, otherwise the difference goes back to the insured.  This limits the profitability of being in that business, which ultimately may lead corporations to realize that there's probably far more profitable ventures out there

    3) Thankfully the exchanges and some of the business world freakouts have finally brought up an obvious thing: why is it the employer's responsibility to provide healthcare coverage.  Both the left and right are starting to realize this vital point, which ultimately can help move towards single player.

Destroying the ACA, a law that has been in place since 2010 and declared constitutional by the Supreme Court AND was endorsed by voters in 2012 would probably permanently set back health care reform.  You will NEVER see single payer come about with what you're proposing.  The ACA is a step in the right direction and with some work, can move states and ultimately the country towards single payer....which is why the GOP is truly freaking out.  They're about to lose the health care reform debate permanently.
