    They more than anything illustrate why the electoral college has become much more favorable to our side.  It's much less likely, thank God, that we'll see another scenario like 2000.

    The trends in Colorado, Virginia and Nevada are critical to winning the electoral college if the popular vote is close to tied.  Let's make sure to be extra nice to folks in those states in leap years.

    It also explains why Ohio is a bigger battleground than Florida despite having fewer EVs: it's more predictable, and thus a better guage of the national mood.  Unfortunately we probably won't have an R nominee oblige us by trashing the American auto industry next time.
