  •  I believe that the money I spend there is going (0+ / 0-)

to pay the local employees, suppliers, etc.

I have seen no credible evidence put forth by anybody that buying their sandwiches supports a "kill the gays" agenda in Uganda.

That is an argument from ignorance, not from knowledge. So...If you have such evidence, please feel free to enlighten me.

      •  What a strange question. (0+ / 0-)

The most interesting donation, to me, that they made was the one to Exodus International: http://wespeaklove.org/...

Note that Exodus has more or less dissolved itself and issued an apology to the gay community.  Sounds like the aftermath of wrongheadedness  more than hate, but always good when people see the error of their ways and repent.

The $25,000 lobbying effort by the folks from FRC was peanuts in terms of lobbying, but easily the most disturbing item I saw in the links.  I saw their lobbying paper work listed activity against a "pro-homosexual" law, but that's a pretty twisted viewpoint. Not killing people for being who they are should be non-controversial, even for conservatives.

As to the rest -- Seriously? You would expect conservative Christians to support gay marriage?

As I said before, I'm a huge believer in religious freedom and freedom of speech.  But, more to the point, chick-Fil-A changed their giving policy A YEAR AGO to no longer support anti-gay-marriage activities.

The only thing in your list of links that bothers me is FRC's lobbying WRT to  the Ugandan law.  I'm too tired tonight to research that, but I have long ago learned to ignore partisan representations of laws and activity around them, so -- while it sounds bad to me, without knowing the nature of the lobbying, I'm not prepared to condemn Chick-Fil-A for FRC's action just yet.

      •  I found this on the supposed support by FRC (0+ / 0-)

        of the Ugandan law:

        http://www.cbsnews.com/...

        Darned facts.

        •  You really need to research more (0+ / 0-)

Aside from the fact that that is not exactly a flattering article from FRC since it says they actively opposed against the anti-gay law, all the article does in your favor is quote the council themselves in stating that they do not actively support the "kill the gays" bill, it leaves out the fact that they created the atmosphere that brought the bill about in the first place.

Spend some time at the Southern Poverty Law's website.

Even if they did not cause so many problems in Africa, FRC's activities to keep foster children trapped in foster care rather than being taken in by loving homosexual families is enough for me not to want my money to go to them.

But it is a free country.  Support whatever you want.

          •  Part of my text got deleted (0+ / 0-)

I was trying to say the point of the article is that the FRC was actively opposing Congress' effort to repudiate the kill the gays law.

Of course when asked they say they don't actively support killing homosexuals.  And yes after FRC worked hard to create an atmosphere Uganda went a little farther than they would have preferred. If that is good enough for you...

As far as I am concerned FRC is enough of a hate group in this country for me not to support them with my consumer dollars, given the choice,

If you actually care about this issue,  spend some time at the SPLC website it is very eye opening and well researched.

            •  Would you like to provide some support for your (0+ / 0-)

              allegations?

              I imagine not.

Don't know which issue you are referring to.

              •  Obviously you don't want to be dissuaded (0+ / 0-)

I am not sure which allegation you need proof for, but google is your friend.  There is a reason why they are labeled a hate group by splc.   I am not going to waste anymore time on someone who  does not want to see what is right in front of his face..  If you had a civic conscience you could not possibly be clueless of the hate spread by the FRC

                •  Your allegation of support for the Ugandan (0+ / 0-)

anti-gay law, more specifically, the one that subjects gays there to execution.
