  •  So, am I blaming the ACA??? If there aren't (0+ / 0-)

enough doctors now, how can we ever get to this "utopia" that's claimed?  I know mandatory health insurance does not equal health services but if what we do have can't service us now, how will this law make it any better?

What I'm fearing and seeing occurring, people will be paying for something and won't be able to get the care they need.

I know that I haven't been able to, unless I opted to go directly to the ER, which I had to do to get tested for Strep Throat.  While I had insurance, as stated above, they couldn't get me a PCP in my area.  So, I paid for the visit out of pocket after paying over $1800 a year through my company.

I hope my fears are unfounded, really.

    •  The ACA IS helping get more doctors (0+ / 0-)

by setting up loan repayment programs for primary care doctors, advanced practice nurses and general surgeons.

4 new medical schools opened in 2009 in anticipation of the ACA and more since then. So the ACA Is helping with that.

Insurers are mandated to provide doctors in the areas needed. There are people in each state — probably with your insurance commission to help people with problems with their insurers.

Call, demand, and complain — until you get a doctor.

I'm asking you to believe. Not in my ability to bring about real change in Washington ... *I'm asking you to believe in yours.* Barack Obama
