  •  We'll see if that number lasts... (3+ / 0-)

We had numbers like that in August of 2011, but the margin closed up fast.  A generic ballot of 8 might just be good enough to retake the house... maybe...

And with the shutdown, we're in a potentially very volatile political situation right now.  Voters may blame Republicans more, but aren't really thrilled with anyone right now -- and numbers could quickly change.

The government didn't default in 2011. There was no shutdown. This has all yet to play itself out but the fundamentals are not the same.

Let’s make sure that the Tea Party dominated Republicans are held accountable.

Keep it up front that after losing the Presidential race, losing seats in both houses of Congress and even having more Americans vote for Democrats in House races, these clowns say they still get to dictate policy, through intimidation.  Any time any one of them claims to be a loyal American, let alone patriotic, they should be slapped down.

Spread the word about Obamacare’s benefits.  I’d guess that almost all of us have personal experience with the horrors of the old system and/or the advantages of the new one.  Word-of-mouth advertising is the best way we have to counteract Tea Party lies and mainstream media “balance.”

It’s up to us, individually, to make sure the crazies lose the House in ’14.

It's clear to almost anyone who's watching that Rs are responsible for this. Even the Rs are fighting with themselves. Karl Freakin' Rove is against it. As for the media, they're reporting it pretty accurately. Even Bob Woodward is somberly intoning that Rs are governing by extortion. Obama and the Dems aren't party to the madness like they were last time; they're not giving in to the extortion. And last time, Dems were fighting among themselves. It's like night and day from August 2011.
