  •  Then I guess I don't get it. At least you admit (0+ / 0-)

you're indulging in a fantasy. I hope it makes you feel better.

For myself, I'd rather stay in the trenches and fight to get every R seat turned blue, this election and every election. That's how we'll get to a Congress that works at the end of the day.

I've said I have nothing against doing the standard round of attempting to throw crazy Republicans out of office.

And of course the idea that we can demand Congress' resignation is a fantasy. If we could do that, this Congress would have been gone long ago.

This petition is describing, not a legal maneuver we can use, but the reality of the relations between us and Congress. Congress, as it currently stands, doesn't give a shit about doing its job. Some people within Congress, most of them Democrats, want very much to do their jobs, but are effectively and more or less constantly prevented from doing so. This shutdown is the most vivid example of that fact I can think of.

You want to throw Republicans out of office? Knock yourself out. But please stow the attitude. I left my career in 2005 to dedicate myself full-time to electing Democrats. I did it for 5 years.

I tried to go online to find a similar bear head...but when I searched “Big Bear Head” it gave me a San Diego craigslist ad entitled “Big Bear needs some quick head now” and then I just decided to never go on the internet again.--Jenny Lawson
