    I do think the ACA issue was a head fake, and the final compromise will be budget focused. However, the "Little Bargain" higher tax rates on the 1% and sequester cuts to both defense and non-defense discretionary spending, has taken the pressure off agreeing on a Grand Bargain, particularly in a high pressure, short time period.

      As a short-term strategy, what you say makes a lot of sense. The long term does in fact remain to be seen, though, doesn't it?

      Of course, the President could just put everyone out of their fucking misery by offering up verbal reassurance that Chained CPI is off the table. So easy to do that.

      Someone let me know when he does this,  please. I'll scare up ten bucks and gladly donate it to your impromptu blog telethon when it happens...
