  •  You lost me from the first sentence. (0+ / 0-)

"I know there are some people who don't believe in government and will go to any lengths to end government..."

What is this government thing?  Everybody has some aspect of government that they hate, even if it's just standing in line at the DMV.  It also might be something like the Pentagon or the DEA or the local police or your state governor, etc., etc., etc.  You're starting out with a sentence that is designed to appeal to people who have already formed an idea of what "government" is that's the same as yours, when that's not probably the case.

Personally, I hate the fucking NSA.  One of the great pleasures of this shut down is watching asshole war criminals like James Clapper on TV crying over money being cut off for his Spy On America program.

Everytime I hear somebody on here try to redefine "government" to mean basic social services, I say, okay, I see where you're coming from, I'm for all that.  You're using different language than the rest of us.

If your own choice of language is based on something warmer and fuzzier than the way the rest of us understand words, then you have to start with something simpler, like redefining government.

Personally, I'd rather define government as that function of the state that can arrest, torture, and spy on its own people.  And then I'd like to strangle THAT in the bathtub.  You and I might even be on the same wavelength about that, but our understanding of how to frame the situation is different and poses a problem.
