  •  "Yes, but the cost of green energy is too high" (9+ / 0-)

Does anyone see a problem with this argument? Does anyone here at Daily Kos understand that this is not a functional argument. We must reduce our generation of CO2. The cost argument is essentially that we refuse to accept any burden to save the future. Every time I read this argument I see red.

We have no choice but to move to a zero CO2 civilization as fast as possible. This entails generating CO2 to build the future sustainable civilization, because we will need to produce a sustainable infrastructure using existing technology.

Of course the real question is when are we going to develop the political will to start the biggest and most important challenge that the human species will ever face?

    •  You'll never get 0 CO^2 generation (0+ / 0-)

It's an impossibility, the point is there are safe levels of carbon emission those which the environment can compensate for which is decreasing as we destroy the rainforests and increase population going carbon neutral is achievable on a personal level for anyone with the money to put into it, the trick is that yes green energy is expensive in large part due to the fact it's not been a mass push towards large scale greener solutions but plenty of people willing to hold it back for the sake of convenience, money, or other frequently personal reasons.
