I'm not the one that used "our" here.

PS: It's not bigotry to support gun control. So piss off on THAT noise.

I'll say it: I am in favor of repealing the Second Amendment.  It's one right we just don't need.  It's usefulness is outlived.

      Nobody needs a goddamned gun.

No one can terrorize a whole nation, unless we are all his accomplices. - Edward R. Murrow

      •  What other rights do we not need? (2+ / 0-)

I'm sure the R's would happily enumerate a bunch of rights we don't need.  Abortion, marriage equality, voting, 4th Amendment, 5th Amendment, 1st Amendment (unless you're an evangelical Christian)... shall I go on?

        This never would have happened.

...someday - the armies of bitterness will all be going the same way. And they'll all walk together, and there'll be a dead terror from it. --Steinbeck

      •  Let me guess: you live in a city, (0+ / 0-)

Probably a big city. I'm guessing also you're on the east coast.

You realize that there are whole huge sections of this country where if you call the sheriff, it can take an hour or longer for them to arrive, where you can open your front door and see a wild boar ready to attack, or hear blood-curdling screaming as a coyote or mountain lion is attacking your sheep or family dog?

What would you like for folks to do? Just let their livestock, pets and even children be torn apart because you don't think guns are necessary anymore?

Drive 100-200 miles out from most major cities and you will find that America is still a pretty wild place. In the west, it doesn't take more than about a 75 mile drive; often, much less.

I don't like guns in most urban settings. I think they do more harm than good there. But I understand that the lifestyle of those who live in New York City is very different than that of someone who lives 30 miles outside Bozeman, MT.  These citizens live in the same country but they really live worlds apart.  The second amendment is there to protect rights of all citizens.

So if you get hit by a bus tonight, would you be satisfied with how you spent today, your last day on earth? Live like tomorrow is never guaranteed, because it's not. -- Me.
