    in gentler times, thank heavens.

It's difficult to be happy knowing so many suffer. We must unite.

    •  I once had an AR-15 assault rifle pointed at my... (8+ / 0-)

...face by a cop.  And I wasn't doing anything wrong at the time.  It was scary as fuck.  Luckily, I knew how to react in such a situation.  I complied, did what I was told.  A few minutes later, they knew I wasn't the droid they were looking for and they explained, apologized and went on their way.

But I could have freaked right the fuck out had I not been well trained.

"These people are going to kill me and I don't know why" is a powerful motivator.  With everything we know about how our government and the police are behaving these days, I can hardly blame anyone if they thought they were gonna be shipped off to Gitmo for making a wrong turn.

It's too early to know what happened here.  But yeah, I am wondering the same thing you did with your diary.  And with everything I know about how our government and police are behaving these days, I'm not sure I'd actually accept whatever their version of the story is anyway.

I'm really getting to the point where I don't know who I trust less: the government or the corporations.

shotgun at me and I knew how to act.  You don't need any training to stay alive.

        •  Au contraire. (0+ / 0-)

You often do need training to stay alive when someone else becomes violent. At least, it sure helps.

I tried to go online to find a similar bear head...but when I searched “Big Bear Head” it gave me a San Diego craigslist ad entitled “Big Bear needs some quick head now” and then I just decided to never go on the internet again.--Jenny Lawson
