  •  Why donate their salary to charity? Why not... (1+ / 0-)

find a way to donate it to the federal government? What, there's no way to donate money to help fund NIH research? Or any of a myriad of other programs? Call it a public-private partnership. People just love that.

Instead, these lunkheads who are donating money to charity are taking my tax money and giving it to some private organization that I may or may not approve of? What the hell? What if they donate it to some group that advocates the teaching of intelligent design instead of evolution in biology classes in public schools? Or what if they donate it to a religious organization? Wouldn't that borderline violate church-state separation?

With every breath that these people draw, it seems, they find a way to piss me off.

    •  Heck, set up a fund (0+ / 0-)

where federal employees in need can get help -- maybe a staffer needs to get a bag of groceries to feed his family, or a security guard needs to pay her rent. The donations can go there -- of course, probably wouldn't be tax deductible which to most of the Republicans is the only reason they donate to charity in the first place.
