    replacing government with countless agreements among private citizens and entities.

    Whether libertarian or anarchist, the notion that a healthy society can be built by agreements among people and private entities is too reality-denying for bothering with the distinctions.

      dating back thousands of years. No, people don't need to appoint autocratic leaders to function.

      To suggest they do is to assert that people are too stupid to self-manage the community, but smart enough to elect the best leaders who will succeed in doing so.

      If people are too stupid to function with direct democracy (using worker assemblies, etc), why do you think them smart enough to appoint good leaders?

      Let's see, how about Trump? Cheney? Bush? Can we not function without such men to guide us?

      Historically, people have self-managed in countless occasions successfully.
