bizarre.  You are impugning him here and calling him biased based on his heritage?  And then you do a historical paragraph, too, to base your baseless assumptions?

What is up with all of this?  Too much time and effort has gone into this all out attack on a diary about one of the very few journalists who have gone to Syria and talked about it at MIT's Center for International Studies.  Good golly, a commenter even bashed MIT here.

I have read that the UN report does not implicate anyone.

The US PTB were sure Assad did it before evidence was gathered by the UN and now is claiming Assad did it based on their interpretation of the UN report.

It's perfectly legitimate to hear other points of view without implying that people are biased or insane.

The motive is not there for Assad to have done this.  That is a big reason to question what happened.  The motive was huge for the rebels and those who wish to wage war to have engineered this attack to cross the red line in the sand they set up.  This was a crime against humanity, and it should be treated as a crime and investigated.  In solving a crime, motive is extremely important.  If this were a crime and the circumstantial evidence was placed before a fair judge, there would be no conviction.

First the US was grabbing on snippets of snooped conversations, which when put in context did not support their conclusion.  Now they are claiming that the evidence proves Assad did this, when it's impossible to know for sure who did this based on locations and the belief that only Assad had access to these weapons, which is an untrue premise.

It's only fair to say we do not know for sure who did this.  It's only fair to listen to other points of view to objectively study this crime.

It's strange how angry people are getting about this and how they are using McCarthyite tactics to silence this discussion.  These tantrums make their case appear all the more flimsy if they have to resort to this behavior when anyone questions their conclusions.

If the case were as open and shut as you angry people say it is, why are you so angry?  Why not present the facts and say why you feel these facts prove your case.  If someone else feels that the facts could go either way, why have a cow?

You all are clearly here to silence debate about this topic, not discuss it or you would present the actual blockquotes in the report that support your conclusions, not call me names and insult the journalist and even MIT.
