  •  Excuse me. It's a funny thing about humans. (0+ / 0-)

They are able to project into the future.  One thing that's done for us is enable the development of agriculture, which depends on seeing the availability of food before it's a fact.  That's a big improvement over flies that only know that there's food - the fact of food - when they step in it and the taste receptors on their legs are activated causing an extension of their proboscis.  They don't project into the future, and operate only according to the facts.  Flies don't speculate.  As for me, I'd rather be a human.

      This is what you said:

So when he gets the chained CPI in place you'll
be satisfied because he did other things.
I never, ever said I would be satisfied if/when CPI happens. EVER. That was you putting words in my mouth. Its very true that humans have the gift of thinking/speculating. Its also true that humans have the curse of being a dick. Don't put words in my mouth please.
      •  Another thing about humans. We make assumptions (0+ / 0-)

I'm not putting anything into your head.  I'm just concluding that since Obama has done all these things you like, you wouldn't be bothered if he did impose a chained CPI.  I'm happy to be wrong and assume I am since you object to my conclusion.  It has nothing to do with putting words in your mouth or thoughts in your head.  It was a figure of speech expressing an assumption - no more, no less.

As for insinuating you're not human - that was not my intention and I apologize if I insulted you.  I was only making the point that it has little survival value to operate only on facts (assuming there are such things).  Facts are either in the present or past, not the future.  If we don't project into the future, how do we protect ourselves?  Why fight the Republicans over the debt ceiling now?  Why not wait until they block it and the US goes into default? Why raise concern about Obama agreeing to a chained CPI if it hasn't happened yet?  You vote for people based on what they say they will do in the future or what you think they will do. To say you only deal in facts simply can't be true and is no argument against criticism for what Obama clearly wants to do based on his words and actions.
