  •  When we bought this house, (10+ / 0-)

it did not have a dedicated library room. So I had one built off the dining room. Only one problem. It was too small. Seems at the time I had many boxes of books, and I didn't think to do the math for the volume. I suppose that was just as well, because I couldn't have afforded a room the size I needed. So far I have taken three or four pickup truck loads of books to the public library as donations. I still have at least that much more. The ones I donated were mostly popular fiction. My wife was a voracious reader. The public library manager said they appreciated the fiction books because they have high demand for popular fiction and often cannot meet the need.

They are not getting my history books, aviation books or cookbooks.

Actually, I lost a magnificent collection of aviation books following my divorce.....Octave Chanute's 'To Fly', 1894...bound first volume of 'The Aeroplane', covering Bleriot's flight and festivities that followed, 1910.....etc, etc
