My dad always said, "Never buy the first year of a new model of car. Buy the third or fourth year, after they've fixed all the problems." Wise man.

It's an axiom in engineering that nothing one designs can survive first contact with the Real World. I imagine it applies equally to software engineering. Wait to apply on these marketplaces in November or early December. By then, it'll be a breeze.

if a habitat is flooded, the improvement for target fishes increases by an infinite percentage...because a habitat suitability index that is even a tiny fraction of 1 is still infinitely higher than zero, which is the suitability of dry land to fishes.

I always wait until the OS has been being used for a year or so before going with a newer one. There always is a "service pack" that fixes most of the problems.

I didn't bother trying to sign up on Oct. 1. I'm waiting until later this month. One reason is my situation has changed and I want to make sure I take what I need into account, so I'm going with an appointment with a helper. But, I figured this would happen right at first. It always does when you are dealing with lots of people with lots of different types of computers/tablets/smartphones.

At least it does if there is pent up demand, so actually this is a good thing.

My wife upgraded her phone to iOS7 as soon as it came out. I strongly doubt I'll upgrade mine before November; rather let other people fight with the bugs first.

I'm curious about the rates in Wisconsin (although I won't be changing from my employer plan) but I'm not going near the site until a few weeks after launch because I don't want to add to the load.
