  •  Why isn't there a "Print" button? (2+ / 0-)

I have moaned over the lack of a "send to printer" button many times, always in silence. (Ok, not in silence, since I've been moaning, but I haven't typed about it.) This time, dammit, I want to print this article and have it in a file drawer for the easy whipping out of.

It's difficult to be happy knowing so many suffer. We must unite.

At least that's how my web browser's menu is set up.

I hope you don't just go "File -> Print." I'm being serious. Doing that tends to get the entire display contents printed -- all comments, all stories. It's a way of saying, "Print DailyKos, please."

The site uses frames, obviously. One advantage to that used to be that framed text made an easy and clean HTML export to a printer. Fonts wouldn't go nuts, and indecipherable code wouldn't mean giant blanks.

There are many, many occasions where I'd like to print a story and share it with someone away from a computer. After all, there still are real humans who neither have nor wish to have "smart" phones.

I really, really wish there were a print export. It would beat the heck out of highlighting all the text, hitting ctrl-C, opening a word processor (Open Office), hitting ctrl-V, and then stripping the "by Taboola" and other boxes by hand.

... I go to "File" - "Email Link"... I get the title and link automatically, then copy-paste the article so I can eliminate the extra junk I don't want.  I print it from email page - or send it or keep it, depending on what the story is.

I don't print anything from the web any longer, but used to on occasion.
