I didn't support Hill in the primaries and I AM a feminist. But I felt that 1)Hill was too close to the DLC way of doing business and that was definitely NOT progressive. I know now that the "neo-liberal" group are closer to the PNAC folks than I am comfortable with and definitely their version of what to do with the world bank and such is not good imo.

I hope to hell we could get somebody good in 2016 cause I am not going to care about it at all if we don't.

It seems that all my life we have been bombing someone, teaching them a lesson. Every day I understand more deeply how violent we are. Violent to others and violent to ourselves. - Robert Olmstead

I really wanted to support her since I am a feminist, too..., but between the warmongering and DLC claptrap..., I just couldn't.  The problem for the '08 election cycle was the simple fact that none of the "frontrunner candidates" stood out.  They were all pretty much clones of one another and they even sometimes used the same words regarding their positions.  There was no real choice.

I desperately want to elect more women..., but not just ANY women.  They must be able to stand up for not only women's rights and be pro-choice, but equal rights for everyone, across the board, which very much includes GLBT equal rights (including marriage), and be in favor of repealing AUMF, Patriot Acts, MCA '06, FISA fiasco '08, MCA '09, and closing the 'office of faith-based initiatives,' protecting Social Security and Medicare and work toward a not-for-profit single-payer medical insurance plan (buying into Medicare would be the best option since that's already what's needed, but change Part D to be included in with the single-payer plan and take it out of the corporate insurance loop), ending illegal and unconstitutional war, bring all troops home from those illegal and unconstitutional activities they're still doing, and prove to me they aren't going to give corporations and banks and Casino Wall Street whatever the hell they want, and look toward ending dependence on fossil fuels and R&D into alternate energy (preferably solar and wind)..... et cetera and so on and so forth.

I certainly don't need a woman to sound like another warmongering man to prove how "strong" she is on national security; that won't get my vote.  Ending torture and prosecuting those who commit torture, ending wars and prosecuting lying war criminals would gain my favor, but the Democrat who gets my vote must be prepared to follow the broken laws, no matter who gets taken down in the process of putting war criminals on trial.

We need some resolution regarding the past, retribution, and restoration back to following the constitution and the treaties that are incorporated into it as the law of the land.

I'm sick of attempts to steer this nation from principles evolved in The Age of Reason to hallucinations derived from illiterate herdsmen. ~ Crashing Vor
