    Blackmail is when someone wants to gain leverage over you by threatening to expose your wrongdoing.

    In this battle, the petulant R's want to shut down enacted law and are trying to extort that concession from Obama. They have nothing to "blackmail" him with. They've tried creating any number of schemes, but all are clearly bogus. Benghazi, IRS, blah blah blah.

    Get over it. He's a Democrat who WON THE ELECTION. That won't be undone.

      Blackmail has broader meanings than just threat of exposure. (You can look it up.)  People used to talk about "nuclear blackmail."  Same as extortion, but I prefer to use the word because it has a deeper, darker resonance (so I believe) in people's minds. That makes it more effective in conveying the almost criminal quality of what the Republicans have been doing for the past few years.
