There's an undercurrent that money is the reward for "goodness" - that because you have money, whatever you did to acquire that money must, by definition, be "good" and you, by definition, deserve it, because you have it.

Instead of the other way around, where you have it because you deserve or need it, which is what social programs sort of espouse. Social programs automagically ascribe, at the very least, a modicum of human dignity to everyone that says, "no matter how many kittens you kick (or whatever), you at least, by virtue of being a member of society, deserve not to die in a gutter (until such time as you kick too many kittens for society to accept you as one of its members)." Everyone starts out with inalienable rights, so to speak.

In Randian 'murica, it's the other way around--you get those rights only by virtue of being born to people with money enough to buy them (or, alternatively, being enough of a douche to steal or f*ck somebody over in order to steal them). Because the having of them justifies whatever douchebaggery it took to get them.

It's like playing the game backwards.

My question was always to the Galt's Gulch people...what happens once y'all need to flush?

How does the Republican Congress sit down with all the butthurt over taxing the wealthy?
