On this subject has mostly been annoying. The usual anti-union claptrap leavened by the occasional dispatch from the real world. Convincing broad swaths of the working and middle classes that unions were evil has been one of the "greatest" victories of the conservative movement.

Conservatives believe evil comes from violating rules. Liberals believe evil comes from violating each other.

    •  I used to work with a dude that thinks unions are (5+ / 0-)

evil and that they threaten the very existence of America. He was incapable of an original thought, as all of the anti-union BS came straight from his father. I asked him if he liked the amount of pay he was getting, about the paid days off and the sick days too, and the savings plan he participated in. Of course his answer was yes. I told him he needed to thank a union brother or sister for standing up for his way of life and possibly losing their lives so he could enjoy the economic freedoms he enjoyed. He never ever saw it that way. Guess what his political affiliation is?

My point is this country is built on the middle class. If the middle class fails, so goes the country. A house cannot stand without a foundation. Too bad none of these Republican bastards understands this. The middle class has been dying for several decades now. We are at a tipping point.

When people lose everything they have, there will be armed anarchy in every corner of this country. The Great Depression of the 30s will look like a walk in the park.
