  •  Far from useless if he convinced any (13+ / 0-)

that he's 100% not going to cave.  Most of these names are no doubt conservative in their politics, but you have to hope their ultimately rational.

CNBC's Harwood seems convinced that the Pres is going to stay firm since their interview airing over the weekend.  Maybe he's goes back to CNBC higher-ups and says "Look Obama is serious and isn't going to cave because he believes this is a constitutional crisis and wants to end this once and for all so either we start putting pressure on Repubs or we're really going over the cliff here and all the folks who watch us for business coverage will be wiped out".

    •  Not Useless if He Convinced Them of Anything. (0+ / 0-)

However one half of the spectrum of "useful" is catastrophe for humanity.

I don’t believe any party has a monopoly on good ideas.

      •  He's hunting for whatever the Rs have as Plan B (0+ / 0-)

as that is an invitation to put forward plan b if there is one. The absence of a rational plan b which these conservatives can explain will say a lot about what O has to do if the Ts start drawing out market falls and the like, since there will be no rational response, other than "We hated the stimulus too."
