  •  de que estas hablando, wey? (0+ / 0-)

90,000 people will watch Mexico play Argentina in the LA Coliseum on a work night.

A big Mexico national team or league game will generate NFL sized Nielsen ratings on Univision.

    •  And the world cup drew super bowl type... (0+ / 0-)

...ratings when the U.S. was in it.  Yeah, not surprising.  Nationalism makes these single, unique events interesting, but a sustained interest in a professional or amateur (i.e. college) league has been lacking for the last 50 years despite massive attempts at trying to make it popular.  Heck, the college softball world series is probably twice as popular as the MLS on TV, maybe even 3 times.

      •  Who watches that Liga Llanera? (0+ / 0-)

MLS Nielsen ratings = Informercial Nielsen ratings

Mexican League Nielsen ratings (for Chivas - America or maybe the Liga MX finals) = Bad NFL game Nielsen ratings

And as soon as Liga MX fans can spend more time watching futbol and less meeting with lawyers, futbol ratings will go way up.
