    In this case, I think that default  actually works better for the non-crazies than it does for the crazies.

    I'm not sure how well the financial markets can be kept stable after default.  But the pressure to do something greatly increases, and the consequences of Obama taking those actions reduce at the same time.

    I don't see how Obama prevents this without risking impeachment in 2015.  But I don't see how the Republicans prevent imploding in 2014 if he can't.

    Sometimes, giving the other side rope enough to swing low sweet chariot is the better part of valor.

      gets repaid by the Tea Party House with a Bill of Impeachment? That might well be the best of all possible worlds.

      There can be no protection locally if we're content to ignore the fact that there are no controls globally.
