  •  Protests? In America? (4+ / 0-)

We'd have to get a large number of people to have any real effect at this point. A few million strong would go a long way.

The main obstacle is that the country is so polarized you can't get anyone to agree on anything, which of course makes a potent protest nearly impossible.

Occupy was the closest thing we've had to that in years, and they're still doing pretty well, but the corporate goons have money, the media and the cops on their side, and that can be a difficult thing to overcome with the country being the way it is.

How we change that is anyone's guess, but I'm certainly willing to go for it if it means a better future for everyone rather than just a lucky, self-important, privileged few.

I write a series called 'My Life as an Aspie', documenting my experiences before and after my A.S. diagnosis as a way to help fellow Aspies and parents of Aspies and spread awareness. If I help just one person by doing this, then I've served a purpose.
