  •  Not sure what your position is. (0+ / 0-)

That this is all kabuki in pursuit of a grand bargain?

    •  My position? I'm a traditional Democrat... (8+ / 0-)

...and I share the positions of that wing of the Party. That pretty much sums it up. Additionally, I don't make predictions. But, while "past performance is no guarantee of future results," I do base my thinking upon facts. And, when it comes to politics, words mean little. Virtually ALL public political statements in D.C. are crafted for effect. I know this from personal (professional) experience. Generally speaking, to take ANYTHING at face value in D.C., in terms of public statements, is the very definition of naivete. (One learns that in Poli-Sci 101, too.)

in the party as it is now. More activism within the party, boycotting or going third party all seem pretty appealing. I'm liking the third alternative these days and because of this I've not been around lately.

        Keep throwing that left hook!

future results, in this context, it's a lot more likely than any other scenario.   While this standoff is long overdue, it's basically over whether a sequestration-level CR should be passed on its own or whether postponing the individual mandate 1 year should be part of the deal.

The same WH that has offered to cut "entitlements" time and time again will not budge on postponing the individual mandate by 1 year.  Draw your own conclusions there.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream of things that never were and ask why not?
