  •  I just called (5+ / 0-)

my Congressman's office--Scott Tipton(R-CO3). I ended up speaking to his "executive assistant" in DC, who said she handles all his scheduling. She said my Congressman was not invited to the White House.
I said "Are you sure? I'm looking at ...the White House saying all 232 GOP caucus members were invited, only 18 will attend." She said "No, sir, I'm sorry, but the Congressman was not invited to the White House--maybe the Leadership was."

I said "Hmmm. Maybe your Speaker held his invitation in abeyance..."  "Don't know what to tell you sir. The Congressman wasn't invited by the White House. Can you spell your last name?"...

Pretty much what I'd expect from my loser of a Congresscritter.

I need to call them again tomorrow--I want them to answer my call.

Trust me, I meditate before calling them each time. I know they're gonna yank my chain--just as I am calling to yank theirs. But now they know one voter in their District is hip to their BS. And I'm a blabbermouth about it.
        :)

    •  That might actually be (half) true (0+ / 0-)

I'm not 100% certain, but I do believe that the way it works is the President sends the invitation to the chamber leaders, and then the leaders are the ones who actually have to invite the individual Representations/Congresspersons.

So Mr. Tipton's EA may have been technically correct. The Congressman was not invited... because Boehner did not invite him even though Obama's invitation to the Speaker intended for all caucus members to be included.

I know it's splitting hairs... that those are the stupid little games these idiots play.
