It could be their plan.  So what?  Not every plan is a good idea.

The GOP becoming hyper-focused on an issue and beating it to death despite all logic and reason pointing in another direction is nothing new.  I give it pretty good odds that they do pursue impeachment.  And it will not be a good thing for the country.  Eventually even some of the 28% will realize that the GOP is what is not good for the country.

    •  Whose Plan? (2+ / 0-)

This thought had crossed my mind lately: What happens if the economy takes this huge shock? Inflation and rising interest rates. Who benefits from this situation? Capital! Imagine holding boatloads of outstanding debts, then you wake up one morning to find you can charge twice or three times the amount you did yesterday for the same debt servicing. The 1% did just fine after the Bush Collapse, in fact, most of them are BETTER OFF! It tasted so good to them that maybe they would like to see it happen again? Their puppets are about to become demographically irrelevant, so why not wring out the middle class one more time and let them take the heat for it? Seems like a 'win-win' for them.
