  •  Btw, "entitlements" is a dysphemism (16+ / 0-)

for "rights." A dysphemism is the opposite of a euphemism. A dysphemism is designed to make a good thing sound bad.

Note that what is to be prevented is "new money ... flowing to states and individuals." If people have money, they are less likely to work for slave wages and, if the Kochs have to pay out more, they can accumulate less. And, if they accumulate less, they will be less important and powerful.

    •  And usually entitlements refer to things that (10+ / 0-)

American tax payers have already paid for.

The GOP would have us believe that it's all free money we are being gifted with, when in fact, these are tax funded programs, and in the case of the military "entitlements" contractual agreements involving investments that accrue money via interest.

Gentlemen, congratulations. You're everything we've come to expect from years of government training (Zed, MIB).

Here and there you see RWNJs trying to make the case those government debts should just be written off.

        •  Dollars are meant to be spend. Currency is meant (0+ / 0-)

          to circulate.
It is not just Republicans that are disingenuous. Al Gore's lock boxes were a scam. Indeed, on the federal level, the whole budget kerfuffle is a scam because, unlike on the state and local level, the federal budget has no legal standing. Passing a budget is meaningless (unenforceable) because what counts are appropriations bills. The federal budget is like local government comprehensive plans -- never followed, but an excuse to deny whatever isn't liked. Obstruction, that's the name of the game. Plans change, even when they are championed by the Cons.
