as it would help to keep it in the news.

The problem in taking the House is that people might forget.

Do not raise the debt celing. Eliminate it

would be more inclined to blame both sides equally as it drags on, and eventually they'll call upon the president to be "presidential" and end the standoff by caving, no matter how f'd the terms are.

The iron is as hot now as it will ever be. To stick it in water now would be the height of stupidity, and I have no interest in financially supporting a stupid party, frankly, ever again.

        •  That's going to happen anyway. (0+ / 0-)
          blame both sides equally
As long as we don't have a media interested in informing the public, we're going to be saddled with this narrative. That's why I'm so cynical/negative about the direction the country is headed. Even when we win (2006, 2008, 2012 elections), we don't get anywhere. We may stop the apocalypse every now and then, but that's about it.

          •  actually, it's beginning (0+ / 0-)

to tip away from false equivalency in the media...Carl Bernstein was talking about that on L'O's show last night, but I was noticing it already.

Now would be the dumbest time to cave...any deal worth taking should both open the government and raise the debt ceiling into at the absolute least the start of 2014.

            •  We'll see how long this (0+ / 0-)
tip away from false equivalency in the media
lasts. By Fall 2014, my guess is that the media will be doing the same old shtick they have been doing since the mid-1980s . . .

              •  I dont give... (0+ / 0-)

a damn about them learning a lifelong lesson, just in the context of this current matter. Now would be the worse time to show a hint of giving...which is why I was just appalled by Jay Carney's "he'd probably sign" bit today.
